Man Stabs Landlord To Death In Lagos

Some hoodlums started a street fight on Olorogun Street, Odo Eran, in the Itire area of Lagos State on Tuesday, during which a 21-year-old stabbed a landlord, identified as Alawu Lateef, to death.PUNCH Metro learnt that Lateef, who was a father of three, had intervened in the fight, and asked the hoodlums to leave the area, when one of them, identified as Lati Elepo, stabbed the landlord.It was gathered that the father of three slumped, while residents arrested Elepo before he could escape with the other hoodlums. The matter was said to have been reported at the Itire Police Division.

JAMB to Stop Cyber Cafés from Registering Candidates for its Examinations

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has kicked against the recommendation by the Senate that all results for entry into tertiary institutions should last for three years.

The examination body said it will distort and delay the future of students across the country if enacted.

Accident Along Gusau-Sokoto Road. Many Injured!

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has announced an accident that occurred yesterday, along Gusau-Sokoto Road. The statement reads:

16 male adults injuries and 2 male adults fatalities were recorded in a lone crash that occurred on 23/11/15, 1950hrs along Gusau-Sokoto route, 18km from Bungudu. The vehicle involved was a Toyota Hiace bus. The victims were taken to the Bungudu General Hospital and Federal Medical Center Gusau.

Gen Levi Karuhanga unanimously agreed that Private Wilson Cheptai should serve a long a custodial sentence so as to act as an example for other trigger happy soldiers. Family Abandons Mental Patient in Church After Deliverance

A cleric, Iyoha Enahoro, has cried out after family members of a mental patient, John Kakaviya, allegedly abandoned him after a deliverance prayer.

Enahoro, who resides in the Bayeku, Ikorodu area of Lagos State, told PUNCH Metro that efforts to get the family members of 35-year-old John to take him for medical help had proved abortive.

He said he did not want to throw the Delta State indigene to the streets so that his condition would not worsen.

Two brothers Arrested for Robbing Ladies They Give ‘Free Ride’ in Lagos

Two brothers have been arrested for robbing ladies they help with 'free rides'. Ikenna Onunkwo, 28, and Chinedu Onunkwo, 23, were arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for robbery with their mother's SUV.

According to the Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni:

“Nobody knew they used to go out each morning to rob. In the evening after office hours, the brothers, still using their mother’s Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), would offer to give female commuters at bus stops lift. They would later rob them of their valuables before pushing them out of the car.

Among people of northern Kenyan communities, it is a common practice to 'book' a young girl for sex by simply giving her a bead.

In a tradition known as "beading", men from the Samburu and Rendille communities give young girls large red bead necklaces that effectively books them for sex, said Josephine Kulea who runs the Samburu Girls Foundation to rescue girls at risk. 

Girls are usually aged 8 to 12 when they are beaded and taken out of school, she said. If they become pregnant they are often forced to have abortions, risking their lives and fertility. Any babies are taken away and even killed.

Quack Nurse Arrested Over Death of Nursing Mother

A quack nurse from Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo local government area of Ondo State (Name withheld) has been arrested by men of the State Police Command over the death of a nursing mother, simply identified as Ayo.

Sources informed DAILY POST that the deceased had approached the suspect for delivery of her baby not knowing that she has no professional qualification to handle such medical job.

A 52-year-old woman, Abioye Olusona (not person above), has been arrested in Ogun State for allegedly stealing two week old twin babies.
