The veteran actor spoke to journalist recently. He lamented that he needs help from the government and the good people of Nigeria.
“I have heard people say that the Lagos State or the Federal Government
had given me a two-bedroom flat somewhere, it is all lies,” he said.
Williams said in Lagos that he was only conferred with a Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) honours by the government; without any cash backing.
The thespian said that he was recently evicted from his three bedroom apartment, by the landlord, who told him that he needed to use the house for something else.
Nigerians have been reacting to his problems on social media. Some have shown sympathy while others have been indifferent.
A comment online by Fidelis Ewubare says : "Its a lesson for the actors and actresses that are still making waves to invest for their future while it is still rossy with them. The white man say "make hay while the sun shines". This idea of blaming government for everything must stop."
