Chicken Republic Tops UBA Debtors List With N1.7Billion

According to list of non-performing debtors released by United Bank for Africa (UBA), Food Concept (Owners of Chicken Republic) is the bank's biggest non-performing debtor with about N1.7bn. Food Concept also owns Butterfield Bread among others.

Chicken Republic was started in 2004 by Mr. Deji Akinyanju who owns largest share of the company
till date. Also on the company board are Chief Dele Fajemirokun, Mr. Idris Mohammed, Mr. Mark Hilton, Bashorun Odunaya Olagundoye, Alhaji Tunde Yusuf, Doyin Akinyanju and Mr. Paul Farrer. Report has it that Chicken Republic owes several financial institutions in the country.

The company has not officially denied these allegations nor the list from UBA.
