Thomas Wahome is the Bishop of Helicopter Ministries Church. He is presently facing a manslaughter case in Kenyan. He said he could not understand how he hit the Pedestrian, who is now identified as Godfrey Nwaniki.
“I was in the left lane and saw the man crossing from the right side but seconds later, he threw himself back onto the road,” he told Resident Magistrate Raymond Kibet.
Friends who were with Godfrey earlier that day said he was heavy drunk before the accident. He had taken several bottles of beer mixed with spirits. But it appear the 'man of God' was equally in a good state of mind. In his confession, he admitted he saw the man crossing yet he hit and killed him. The most surprising part of the court hearing was when the Bishop could not remember the plate registration number of the car he drove that day. which shows that even Bishop must have taken some drugs or drugs that day.
The case is adjourned till November 16.
