Jigawa Declares Today As Public Holiday To Mark Islamic New Year

If you have business in Jigawa today, please note that the state has declared today, Wednesday 14th, as public holiday. According to a report by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the holiday is to mark the beginning of Islamic New Year.


It appears the Islamic communities are trying to ensure equality of religions. All around the world the Christendom celebrate the birth of Christ and the beginning of a new year. Over the years, Muslims have advocated for holiday for the birthday of Prophet Mohammed. The birthday of the Prophet is being taken seriously now. Next is the Islamic New Year!
