Police Arrest 7 People For Stealing Electricity Cables In Bayelsa

The Nigerian Police has arrested seven people for removing electricity cables and selling them off. The Bayelsa Police Commissioner, Mr. Nasiru Oki,  paraded the seven alongside Abu Sule, who is the Chief Security Officer of  ITB, a contracting firm attached to a large hospital owned by Bayelsa State Government.



According to the CP,  the suspects were arrested on Sunday in the Swali market area of Yenagoa, while loading the cables into a vehicle for onward sale, adding that the market value of the stolen cables ran into millions of Naira.

A tricycle thief was also paraded. The Police Chief said vandalism of electricity cables and theft of tricycles are on the increase in Bayelsa State.

However, traffic robbery is on the increase in Lagos.
