'Nigeria Vs Chad Will Cost Us N120M'- NFF

Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has confirmed that they will be spending about N120M in the uncoming game against Chad. However, it appears the body is not pleased with the number of foreign based players invited by the coaching crew. The Keshi-led crew has mentioned names of 15 foreign based players to play against a lowly-rated Chad.

A top NFF chief informed SportingLife journalist that: “We are stuck with the coaches’ selection becaus it is our first game and we want to approve what they asked for wholesale. But we told them categorically that it amounted to waste of money for NFF to sepnd N120 million for a home game against Chad.
“It would beat hollow to hear what the players who ought to be on vacation now are demanding to play for Nigeria. Indeed, the president was livid over the large number of foreign-based players and told the coaches. In fact, the president was particularly surprised by the fact that the body’s director of technical department didn’t do his job by expunging benchwarmers such as Kenneth Omeruo, Godfrey Oboabona, for instance.
“The president ( Amaju Pinnick-shown above) expressed surprised at the inclusion of Vincent Enyeama, following the superb showing of the home-based goalkeepers in the friendly games that the team have played since Enyeama opted out of the South Africa away game due to controversial backache, only to play for his French side in the following weekend.”
