The 33-year-old fake officer told men of Lagos State Police Command that his love for the job made him go into impersonation. The irregular service number on his uniform was what gave him away.
Members of the X-squad noticed his number and decided to interrogate him. He was asked: "Do you know Solomon Arase?" Thinking someone had reported him of wrong doing he says : " No, I don't
have any relative or friend with that name. Did he report me or something?"
That was an easy arrest warrant. He was picked up and interrogated further.
He later confessed to the crime. He 'joined' the force 12 years ago after losing his security job. He pays no transport fee anytime he travels.
The Police Command told journalists he will be going to court soon.
