The governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari made a shocking allegation while speaking at a function at the headquarters of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETfund in Abuja. According to him, the state lacks qualified teachers, especially English and Mathematics teachers.
“We have a College of Education that is over 20 years and is still producing NCE,” Mr. Masari said.
“It shows clearly there is lack of capacity of the lecturers themselves and the infrastructure at the institution. This is where we want the Fund to intervene.”
“We want to restore the lost glory of the state in the education sector,” he said. “If we can give our children the right education, then we can go to sleep.” he continues.
