Two Sisters Burnt To Death In Ghana

Yesterday was a bad Monday for residents of Tema, Ghana, as fire took the lives of two young sisters in Abonkor, a suburb of Tema Newton.

The burnt sisters, Emmanuella Quainoo, four years old and Gifty Tetteh, 14, were pupils of Christ
Magritte International School and Christ Revelation School respectively.

According to their brother, Harrison Tetteh, who survived the incident, there was power outage in the area which prompted them to lite a candle. The fire that resulted burnt all their properties including the girls.

Harrison says: “I woke up only to detect smoke coming out of the room where my siblings were sleeping so I quickly raised an alarm but because the door was locked, the neighbours were not able to rescue them,”
The Ghana National fire Service told newsmen they got to know of the inferno around 12:24am on Monday. They rushed to the site but it was too late. The girls were already burnt.
